International Dot Day is inspired by Peter H. Reynold's, The Dot, an inspiring story with creativity at its heart: "Just make a mark and see where it takes you". The day aims to connect children on a global scale - connect the dots - and anyone, anywhere in the world, can register and receive ideas on how to contribute here.
Our activities included a beach walk, to collect materials from our surrounding environment, to make a mandala in honour of our beach and beautiful tree that grows nearby.
Creative Art, which the children led - I just laid the resources out and made a few suggestions - they came up with ideas themselves.
Even Numeracy and Literacy got a dot on.
I am looking forward to sharing our day with others and showing the children how others celebrated this dotty day!
