Is this the best we can offer in schools? Really?
August 26, 2015
We had fun on this special day with lots of activities related to the stories of Roald Dahl.
We dressed backwards, walked along the beach backwards and stood on our heads! All thanks to The Vicar of Nibbleswicke.
The bug hunt was a huge success as, though we didn't come across any of the bugs featured in James and the Giant Peach, we were lucky enough to come across this handsome Thai chameleon:
Which, back at base camp, was drawn beautifully:
I do believe that Quentin Blake himself would be impressed.
Lunch was upside down sandwiches - very messy - and Frozen Peachy Surprise with Cacao Drizzles; find the recipe here.
We made dream jars; the children thought of what they would most love to dream about and whispered into their jar for bedtime later.
Here's hoping all their dreams - and yours - come true.
